Laser Engraver
What is it?
The Epilog Helix Laser Engraver is a machine that uses a laser to engrave text, graphics, and photographs onto a wide
variety of materials including wood, glass, plastics, and acrylics. It can also cut through materials up to 1/2" thick. The
large 24" x 18" x 8.5" (610 x 457 x 215.9 mm) engraving area allows users to engrave larger items, multiple pieces, and
thicker materials.
How do you use it?

Prepare an object to print using one of the following methods

Find, download, and save an already-made files (Epilog Sample Club, or just Google "vector files" to find downloadable samples).

Design your own job using CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator. Save your job as a vector file. (Check out these directions for setting up your vector file.)

Save your file to a flash drive, email the file to yourself, or save it to your Google Drive.

Bring in the material you'd like to have engraved. Please double check the Epilog website to make sure your material is engravable.

Visit Ms. Tisher in the media center with your material and your file to prepare it for printing. Check the dimensions of your object before it prints. All jobs must be paid for in advance.

How much does it cost?

The cost for using this piece of equipment is $0.50 per minute of engrave time.
How long does it take?

Prints usually take a few minutes, but can take longer depending on the size of the objects. Objects will be printed on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, objects that are school-related will be printed before objects that are not for school.
