Vinyl Printer/Cutter
What is it?
The Roland TrueVIS SG 540 is a wide-format vinyl printer/cutter that can be used to print and automatically contour
cut vinyl decals, signs, stickers, vehicle graphics, banners, and more.
How do you use it?
-
Prepare an object to print using one of the following methods
-
Find, download, and save an already-made image file (please make sure the image isn't under copyright or trademark).
-
Design your own image using CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, or another program.
-
Save your file to a flash drive, email the file to yourself, or save it to your Google Drive.
-
-
Visit Ms. Tisher in the media center with your file to prepare it for printing using Roland's VersaWorks Dual RIP software. Check the dimensions of your design before it prints. All jobs must be paid for in advance and are non-refundable once they've been printed.
What is the largest object that can be printed?
-
52" width for printing; 51" width for cutting.
How much does it cost?
-
Print prices are determined based on the linear inch of material used ($0.50/linear inch) and the amount of ink used ($1.00/cc). Ms. Tisher will give you a price quote before she prints your file, and jobs must be paid for before they are completed. There are no refunds for lost or damaged base materials used in the Fab Lab as failure and mistakes are part of the activity.
How long does it take?
-
Prints usually take several minutes but can take longer depending on the size of the objects. Objects will be printed on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, objects that are school-related will be printed before objects that are not for school.
